Coming Soon Youth Emergency & Transitional Shelter (YETS)

Project Overview and Program Services 

The BUTC Youth Emergency & Transitional Shelter (YETS) consist of residential homes in Fort Bend County, housing young adults 18-24 for up to 90 days. Each home will provide a safe, inclusive space equipped with essential resources, staffed by trained professionals who will guide residents through a structured program of care and development. 

Key services offered through YETS include: 

• Immediate Needs Provision: Upon arrival, young adults are provided with food, clean clothing, personal hygiene items, and a safe sleeping environment. 
• Case Management: Case Managers work with residents to develop a customized care plan that includes steps toward securing stable housing, improving  mental health, and building life skills.  
• Mental Health Services: Licensed clinicians provide trauma-informed  individual and group therapy sessions, helping residents address emotional and psychological needs that may be tied to their experience of homelessness. 
• Life Skills and Financial Literacy Training: Residents attend workshops on budgeting, job readiness, and other essential life skills to support long-term stability. 
• Educational and Employment Support: Residents receive help with educational pursuits, job readiness, and job placement to foster      self-sufficiency. 
• Transitional Housing Assistance: Dedicated housing navigators assist residents in securing long-term housing, coordinating with local apartment complexes, landlords, shared living places and roommate situations as needed.
