We are thrilled to launch our newest program.
BUTC Youth Emergency & Transitional Shelter (YETS), assist young adults (ages 18-24) experiencing homelessness in Fort Bend County by assisting them with safe housing, essential resources, and comprehensive support services.

Feed The Friends Initiative is Coming Back Better
Feed The Friends (FTF) - Empowering Families Through Food & Financial Literacy
Building Up The Community (BUTC) has restructured its Feed The Friends (FTF) initiative to go beyond providing hot meals. This revamped program now targets the root causes of food insecurity in Houston and surrounding areas by combining grocery assistance, financial literacy education, and life skills training.
Each month, FTF selects families from low-income and underserved communities to receive free groceries. In return, participating families are required to attend a virtual or in-person financial literacy workshop, which focuses on budgeting, meal planning, and smart grocery shopping strategies.
The goal is to help families build long-term self sufficiency and reduce dependency on food pantries and emergency aid.
We believe in creating lasting impact not just temporary relief.

Stocked For Success
We understand how important it is for students to have the supplies they need to start the school year strong. But what happens when they run out and need more? In addition to our annual back to school supply drive, we keep extra supplies on hand to support families throughout the year.
Our annual back to school event is held every August!
